Veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is backed to continue playing despite retirement rumours surrounding him ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
Heading towards the end of the season, the 37-year-old showed his intentions of continuing to play despite the club announcing ahead of the season that they had offered him last playing contract at the club.

Despite the club being in talks with the shot-stopper over a possible none-playing role at the club, former Amakhosi defender Mokete Tsotetsi backed the South African international to continue playing football despite the club’s stance.
“Most goalkeepers play until they are above 40 years of age,” Tsotetsi told Soccer Laduma.
“Goalkeepers are different from on the field players as with age and experience they become better and better and that’s why I think Itu still has what it takes to be a good goalkeeper at a top level club like Chiefs.
“He could have chosen to go play for any club. He can still play for at least two seasons or even more.”
Meanwhile, the arrival of Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy FC is seen as the final nail on Khune’s playing career at Chiefs, as the club has offered him a none playing role.
