Orlando Pirates player is set to join an ABC Motsepe League club ahead of the 2024-2025 league season.
Having joined Pirates at the back of a brilliant 2022-2023 Nedbank Cup run with Dondol Stars, Sphamandla Gumede is set to spend his second season out on loan.

Gumede spent a whole of last season out on loan in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with Orbit College FC, where he struggled for game time featuring only four times in the second division of football.
Earlier this window, The CoverUp established that the Sea Robbers were looking to loan him out to a Betway Premiership or Motsepe Foundation Championship club for this season.
However, the club has failed to find a club in the top two divisions, which has led Gumede to train with the club’s feeder team, Pele Pele FC in the third division of South African football according to Idiski Times.
The publication reports that the goalkeeper is set to return to the ABC Motsepe League, where he used to play during time at Dondol Stars.
“The former Dondol Stars goalkeeper is currently training with Pele Pele FC – the feeder team of Pirates who play their football in the South African third division,” the publication stated.
“Gumede won’t be new in the ABC Motsepe League, as he has played there before for Dondol Stars and led the side to winning the league title and qualifying for promotional playoffs, where they failed to gain promotion.”
