Orlando Pirates’ CAF Champions League journey will continue with a familiar opponent as they face Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy in the second preliminary round.

Jwaneng Galaxy secured their spot against the Buccaneers after a dramatic victory over African Stars FC.

The Namibian champions, African Stars, had caused a major upset in the first leg by beating Galaxy 1-0 at home.
However, the Botswana double winners fought back in the second leg, winning 1-0 in regular time to level the aggregate score.
The match then went to penalties, where Galaxy edged out African Stars 6-5 to set up a rematch with Orlando Pirates.
This encounter will be the second year running that Pirates and Galaxy meet in the CAF Champions League.
Last season, Jwaneng Galaxy knocked Pirates out of the competition, making this upcoming match highly anticipated.
Pirates secured their place in the next round after a convincing 4-0 win over Disciples FC at Orlando Stadium on Friday.
Now, they will be looking to avenge last season’s defeat and progress further in the tournament.
