The shocking departure of the former Orlando Pirates coach left a void Masandawana’s hierarchy is looking to fill ahead of the current season.
Names like Benni McCarthy, Miguel Cardoso, Patrice Carteron, and Manqoba Mngqithi have been linked with the post, but the latter’s agent, Mike Makaab has distanced his client from the post.
In a radio interview with Gagasi FM on the show Extra Time, Makaab revealed that his client is in talks with the club for a new deal and a new role that will be different from his past posts.
“It’s a different position that I can’t discuss, it’s not an assistant, but not a head coach, it’s something pretty different but on the coaching side, which I think is unique in South African football but not unique to European football,” said Makaab on Extra Time on Gagasi FM.
With the former Golden Arrows tactician expected to sign the new deal early next week, our source close to the club has reported that the club is considering going back to co-head coaches situation with Mngqithi one of the coaches.
