FUS Rabat step up pursuit for Kaizer Chiefs first assistant coach Fernando Da Cruz, as the 2024-2025 season draws near.
Having already lost performance analyst Ayman Makroud after he decided against joining the club, Chiefs is at risk of losing first assistant coach, Da Cruz.

The Frenchman is heavily linked with Morrocan club Fath Union Sport Rabat, as the Botola side is looking to fill the vacant head coach post after the departure of Jamal Sellami at end of the 2023-2024 season.
However, the 52-year-old recently joined Amakhosi on what is believed to be a two-year deal with an option for another year, and the Naturena-based club is looking for a compensation fee to partways with the tactician.
Something that Rabat led by new president Saad Benouhoud has no interest in paying, as he has travelled to Turkey and is hopeful of convincing Da Cruz to terminate his contract at Naturena and join the Morrocan club according to Austin Ditlhobolo.
“Saad Benouhoud – the new FUS Rabat president – has travelled to Turkey to hold one-on-one talks with Fernando Da Cruz to try to convince the Portuguese tactician to resign & join the Moroccan club,” Ditlhobolo stated on his Facebook page.
“Coaches Issame Charai, Zakaria Aboub, Mohamed Bencherifa, and Said Chiba are in the running for the job if the Botola Pro League side fail to secure Da Cruz’s services.”
Da Cruz is currently in Turkey for the 2024-2025 pre-season with Chiefs under the Tunisian coach, Nasreddine Nabi.
