Kaizer Chiefs’ second assistant coach Fernando Da Cruz turns down a head coach job from Morrocan club.
Over the last 10 days, the Morrocan club, FUS Rabat, targeted new Chiefs’ second assistant coach to become the club’s new head coach after the club’s head coach was left vacant after the departure of Jamal Sellami towards the end of 2023-2024 Botola season.

Rabat was trying to force the Frenchman to resign at Naturena and join the club, which led to the club’s president, Saad Benouhoud, heading to Turkey to try and convince Da Cruz to leave Chiefs.
However, Rabat’s president appears to have failed to lure the tactician away from Amakhosi, as according to Austin Ditlhobolo, the former LOSC Lille head coach has rejected the offer and chose to remain as Nabi’s assistant for the upcoming season.
“The highly qualified tactician turned down the offer to take charge of FUS “due to his commitment to Kaizer Chiefs and his desire to work as an assistant to Nasreddine Nabi.”,” Austin Ditlhobolo stated on his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Rabat is not short of suitors for the head coach post after being rejected by Chiefs’ assistant coach, as three names are in the running to take over the post ahead of next season.
“Issame Charai, Zakaria Aboub, and Ahmed Al-Kantari are now the three coaches shortlisted for the vacant coaching job,” Ditlhobolo concluded.
