Mamelodi Sundowns legendary captain Themba Zwane reveals his ambitions of going into coaching when he retires.
Heading into his 13th season as a professional footballer, Zwane is expected to likely call time on his career after 2025-2026 season, given that the South African national team qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Having recently extended his stay at Chloorkop for another season, the 34-year-old has shared his ambitions of one day becoming a coach and assisting the youngster about the game of football.
During Sundowns’ unveiling of the 2024-2025 home and away jerseys, the club’s technical sponsor, Puma, hosted a ‘Question and Answer'(Q and A) with Zwane.
The South African international was asked if one day after he had retired, he would ever go into coaching.
“Yes, because I would like to assist the youngsters by sharing the experience I have gained,” Zwane said during the Q and A.
“I have played under several great coaches at club and national level, and though they operate differently, the one thing they have in common is a work ethic.
“I would like to be remembered not only as a good player, but as a good teammate, a good leader, and as a good example for the youngsters,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Zwane could help Sundowns to avoid their second defeat in as many days after a 1-0 defeat to Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv having lost 2-1 to SV Sandhausen a day earlier.
