Former Cape Town City FC and Maritzburg United shot-stopper Shu-Aib Walters joins Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
Sundowns lost a host of technical team members in both the senior and junior ranks of the club after the departure of Rulani Mokwena.

One of the technical team members that left the club is Marcus Mashilo, who left the role of head of goalkeeping department in the academies to join Golden Arrows.
The Brazilians quickly went on to fill the vacant position by adding Randburg FC head of goalkeeping Walters to the club’s technical team in the junior ranks. The former Bafana Bafana confirmed the move to KickOff.
“I have officially joined Sundowns for probably a two plus one year, plus another year,” Walters told KickOff.
“I have already been at their training, I started on Thursday. I will be running all the junior goalkeepers.
“It’s a nice small unit. I know Surprise Moriri, Selekedi Mogale, and all the guys I will be working alongside. I am looking forward to improving the goalkeepers.
“It’s a challenge, I have always wanted to get a development goalkeeper into a DDC team and potentially to the first team. It starts now.”
