Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi sends a stern warning to the club’s star attacker Thembinkosi Lorch ahead of the new season.
With speculations surrounding the 32-year-old’s future at the club after the departure of Rulani Mokwena and the club’s Technical Director Flemming Berg not content with his signing, Mngqithi has sent warning shots to Lorch while also backing him to perform.

Speaking to the media ahead of the MTN8 quarterfinal clash against Polokwane City, the former Golden Arrows tactician revealed that the attacker is not fit for the upcoming match and what he expects of him this season.
“Lorch is in a very good headspace. We were with him even this morning. He’s started training, although he’s not into full training,” Mngqithi told the media.
“It’s him, (Sipho) Mbule are still out due to minor injuries (Matias) Esquivel might be in… towards the end of the week due to a minor strain.
“But we believe he’s in a good headspace. He understands he’s employed by Sundowns, and he has a responsibility to deliver for Sundowns.
“And he if he doesn’t deliver for Sundowns, we have many other options. So it’s natural for every player to want to fight for his place.”
