Mamelodi Sundowns set to hit South African football fraternity with another transfer twist ahead of the club’s start of the 2024-2025 season.
Midday the 2023-2024 season, the Brazilians added two players to their star-studded squad after signing Thembinkosi Lorch from Orlando Pirates and Matias Esquivel from Argentinean club, Club Athlético Lanús.

Upon the latter’s arrival for a reported fee of around R46 million the club had five South American players in rank, as he joined Gaston Sirino, Marcelo Allende, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, and Junior Mendieta at the club.
However, just more than seven months after joining his fellow South American at Chloorkop, the 25-year-old is set to return to his Native country of Argentina.
He is expected to join Primiera Division side, Club Athlético Talleres, on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent according to Idiski Times.
He becomes the third South American player to leave Sundowns this window after Junior Mendieta and Gaston Sirino, who have joined Volos NFC and Kaizer Chiefs, respectively.

Sundowns is expected to partways with more foreign players before the window closes in September, as the likes of Abdelmounaim Boutouil and Abubeker Nasir face uncertain times.
