Kaizer Chiefs Football Club explains the choice of the away jersey for the 2023/2024 season.
Towards the end of the year 2022, Kaizer Chiefs announced the end of a 23-year partnership with Nike as their technical sponsor.

Meanwhile, also announcing the return of Kappa, with the two parties having worked together in the 80s and 90s.
The new deal came in effect after the end of 2023/2024 season, with the first patches of the kits being displayed late last month.
However, the club’s faithful have been waiting for the kits the club will use next season.
Before Kappa and Amakhosi could officially unveil the kits, they were leaked to the public.

The home jersey is the traditional gold and black, while the away jersey is an unusual green and gold jersey.

The away jersey is criticised by many in the country, and the club took to their various social media accounts to explain the decision.
“This ain’t what you are used to,” the club wrote.
“Kaizer Chiefs and Kappa have also introduced beguiling green and gold away kit for the upcoming season.
“Inspired by the natural beauty of South Africa, the green represents the lush landscapes of the nation, while the gold trim symbolises victory and the accomplishment of the club over the past 53 years.
“This visually stunning away jersey is a statement to Kaizer Chiefs’ determination to dominate both on and off the field.”
The Phefeni Glamour Boys will likely officially play in the kit this upcoming Saturday in Gaborone, Botswana.
