Itumeleng Khune playing career at Kaizer Chiefs appears to be over ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
The club headed out of the country for pre-season in Turkey on Thursday without the club’s veteran goalkeeper Khune, as the player is currently without a playing contract.

The 37-year-old’s contract ended on the 30th of June 2024 and is facing uncertain times at the club after he was informed that he will not be part of the playing squad in the upcoming season.
However, the club has tabled three different options for the South African international ahead of next season, as they stated when awarding him a one-year deal before the start of last season.
The club has tabled a coaching post(rumoured to be goalkeeping coach post), marketing alongside the club’s marketing genius Jessica Motaung, and an ambassadorial role for Khune to choose.
Meanwhile, the club has traveled to Europe with new signing Bongani Sam, who completed his move from Amakhosi’s arch-rivals Orlando Pirates.
The left fullback alongside his new teammates, they will meet with the club’s incoming head coach Nasreddine Nabi this weekend in Europe.
