Kaizer Chiefs first assistant coach Fernando Da Cruz is likely to leave less than a month after joining the club.
The Frenchman was among a list of top coaches who sent their curriculum vitaes to the club after Amakhosi announced that they are looking for an experienced head coach who has won trophies and knows African football towards the end of last season.

However, the club decided to go for the then AS FAR Rabat head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who named Da Cruz as his first assistant, but the duo are likely to not work together at Naturena heading to next season and going forward.
Da Cruz is said to have received a tempting offer from Nabi’s former club, Rabat, ahead of the new season, and talks have started according to Micky Jnr.
“FUS Rabat want Fernando Da Cruz as their new head coach ahead of the new season in Morocco. Preliminary talks have taken place just now. The offer is very tempting, I understand,” Micky Jnr said on X.
The 52-year-old is said to be in Morocco talking to Rabat about a possible deal that could see him take over the vacant head coach job at the club.
“Fernando Da Cruz is currently in Morocco, can confirm. He wasn’t around when Nabi arrived in Turkey today. Da Cruz is a priority target for FUS Rabat, who wants him as their new head coach,” Micky concluded.

Despite the enticing offer, Rabat expects Da Cruz to terminate his contract at Chiefs, as they have no intention of paying for his release, which the Naturena-based club did when they acquired the services of Nabi.
