Kaizer Chiefs heads to Europe without five key players, as the club starts preparations for the 2024-2025 season.

Amakhosi traveled to Instabul, Turkey, to kick start their preparations for next season in earnest without five of their key players.

George Matlou, Ashley Du Preez, Dillan Solomons, Mduduzi Mdantsane, and Tebogo Potsane didn’t travel with the rest of the squad, as they currently nursing injuries they got last season.
Du Preez is suffering from a foot injury he got towards the end of last season, Potsane underwent surgery to deal with a groin injury that has been troubling him since 2023, Matlou is expected to miss the next couple of months as he is still recovering from a knee injury that forced him to go under the knife, Mdantsane is out of the remainder of the pre-season with an unknown injury, and lastly, Solomons is recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered towards the end of last season.
Meanwhile, the club has also traveled with Orlando Pirates left fullback Bongani Sam, who is expected to complete a move to Naturena in the next coming weeks.
However, the club’s legendary captain is expected to make a decision on his Chiefs’ career, as the club is said to have made it clear to him that he will not get a playing contract while also tabling three different offers.

The 37-year-old can either join the coaching staff or marketing team or become an ambassador, but his desire to continue playing could see him leave the club.
