The much anticipated friendly match between Kaizer Chiefs and Township Rollers in Botswana is cancelled.
The two sides played against each other last year during the 2023-2024 pre-season where the hosts edged Chiefs 1-0 thanks to a goal from former Orlando Pirates winger Thabo Rakhale.

After a successful match last year that had a huge turnout, the two clubs will not be facing each other this pre-season despite agreeing to play the match again this year.
According to one of the leading journalists in Botswana, Kelvin, South African Football Association(SAFA) has not granted the Naturena-based club permission to play Rollers, leading to the cancellation of the match.
“The match between Township Rollers and Kaizer Chiefs will not be taking place because SAFA has not granted permission for Kaizer Chiefs to play against Township Rollers,” Kelvin stated on his Facebook page.
