Former Mamelodi Sundowns middlefielder Bongani Zungu is set to join Wydad Athletic Club ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
The South African international was among the first four players to leave the Brazilians after the 2023-2024 season, with others being Gaston Sirino, Brian Mandela Onyango, and Thabiso Kutumela.

Upon parting ways with Sundowns, Zungu travelled to Turkey for holidays with his celebrity girlfriend Cindy Thando opening up speculations about him possibly joining Sundowns’ arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs who were in Instabul, Turkey for pre-season.
However, Amakhosi’s Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., denied the rumours leaving uncertainty in where the former Glasgow Rangers middlefielder will play next season.
The uncertainty in his career continued after new WAC head coach Rulani Mokwena hinted at a possible reunion in Casablanca during a radio interview with a South African radio station.
However, the speculations and rumours surrounding the future of the 31-year-old seem to be heading to an end, as according to Unplayable, Zungu is set to join the Red Castle.

He is expected to be among the six players Mokwena, and the Casablanca-based club will announce today as new signings for the 2024-2025 season.

The club will then travel to Turkey for pre-season later this week or early next week to start their preparations for the next season in earnest.
