Mamelodi Sundowns-bound star striker Iqraam Rayners in hot water after allegedly hitting a “fan” on the face with a whisky class.
Speaking to News24, Stellenbosch Community Activist Eon Hendricks revealed the horrible incident he went through at a bar/nightclub this past Saturday at a nightclub in Stellenbosch called Centraal.

“It was a good day, I spent a day at work, and I decided to go out at night with my friends, we went to Centraal where I usually go,” Hendricks told News24.
“The goal was to actually watch the (Olympics) Basketball final between the USA and Serbia, so that’s why I went out to Centraal.
“I chilled there with friends until between 12 am and 1(am). The club usually closes at 1(am), and I made my last (stop) at the toilet, where I got Iqraam Rayners inside the toilet.
“I was like a fan, I was so happy to see him because I just read in the morning about his possible transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns, and the first thing that came to mind is to start a conversation based on what I read.
“I didn’t get the response I expected to get, and he was very aggro(aggressive) towards me, and after time, he left the toilet, which I left a little bit after him.
“When I got outside, I just felt a warm knock on my face, which he actually hit me with a whisky class on my face. I went down and realised I am bleeding and I could just feel people kicking me and people trying to get hold of me until I managed to escape and run to a room at Centraal where I was treated and taken to the hospital.
“As I (have) said, I am a regular, I have been living in this town I have finished school here. I am a regular, and you go out into a public space just to enjoy yourself. So you never go out to expect something like this to happen.
“The most disappointing thing I am feeling is that it is someone I am supporting, not personally in his personal capacity, but the institution he is involved with.
“It’s something that means a lot for us as community members, so I am disappointed in his behaviour because if you are a professional athlete, I am sure you do think of consequences.
“If you hit me with a fist, I would have understood it’s a normal brawl, It was a fight men fight sometimes. But to take a class, it indicates a sense of criminality in his mindset, and that is what is really disappointing for me,” Hendricks concluded.
Hendricks is said to have opened a case of assault against the Sundowns-bound striker after the alleged horrible incident.
