Supersport United humiliated Mamelodi Sundowns in one of the four matches the two clubs against each other in Atteridgeville this past Sunday.
In the latest round of the 2024 Gauteng Development League(GDL) fixtures, Sundowns visited their town-rivals Supersport United at the iconic Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium this past Sunday.

With the Brazilians in the running to win the overall league championship, the matches against Matsatsantsa provided Sundowns a chance to widen the gap at the top of the table.
With second place, Kaizer Chiefs not in action this past weekend due to their matches against the Tuks postponed, Masandawana had the chance to ultimately seal the overall championship.
Sundowns’ under-13 side started the day on a high with a close 2-1 victory, which was followed by a 1-0 and 3-0 victories in the under-15 and 17 divisions, respectively.

However, the match of the day saw the Spartans under-19 side pull out an impressive and shocking 4-0 over Sundowns’ under-19 side led by Surprise Moriri.
The shock loss see Chiefs maintain their lead at the top of the under-19 table despite not playing this past weekend due to AmaTuks playing in a youth tournament in the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Supersport also gives themselves a small chance of contesting for the under-19 league honours with TS Galaxy also in the running.
