The 27-year-old is a subject of interest from overseas clubs across the globe after his brilliant 2023 AFCON held in Ivory Coast earlier this year.
However, despite all the interest and speculations around his career, Sundowns is determined to keep Bafana Bafana international at the club beyond his current contract, which expires on the 30th of June 2026.
Despite the club trying to tie him down, the former Supersport United has rejected the offer the club has presented, as he is seeking a European move.
Something his teammate, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, feels he won’t have a problem with should he move to Europe, as he has all the attributes to play in Europe.
“Actually, Tebza is one of the players, it’s surprises me with all the attributes and the qualities he has, strong physical presence and the ability to score outside the box, shoots and also runs a lot,” Ribeiro said on Radio 2000.
“So, he’s got all the qualities that you can get from a midfielder. It still surprises me that he’s my teammate in South Africa because players of that quality, you probably see them in top clubs in Europe.”
The Brazilian also revealed how Mokoena is focused on Sundowns despite all the speculations surrounding his career.
“I asking about him being focused in Sundowns or maybe being actually disturbed by other offers but he said he’s gonna put every focus he has on the last two games or the last games of the league and also to focus on the final, that’s where his mind is at but God decides or takes the final decision.
“But his mind and everything is towards Sundowns.”
