Sekhukhune United secures the signing of Kaizer Chiefs’ target as the Limpopo-based club continues with squad overhaul.
After a brilliant 2022/2023 season in the Zambian MTN Super League that saw Andy Bobwa Boyeli win both the league’s leading goalscorer and Player of the Season awards, various clubs across the continent showed interest in his signature.
One of the clubs heavily linked with his signature is Kaizer Chiefs, with Amakhosi said to be among the South African clubs like Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Sekhukhune United interested in the 23-year-old’s signature.
With Chiefs in transition and expected to make another overhaul to their squad and coaching staff, Boyeli was one of the names the club expected to go after.
However, the Naturena-based club has lost the race for the signature of the bulky striker to a fellow Dstv Premiership side, Babina Noko.
The player’s agency, P Management Sports, announced on X that the player has completed a move from the Zambian giants to an ambitious Limpopo-based club.
After much speculation, we are pleased to announce that Andy Bobwa Boyeli 🇨🇩 is a 🦔 @SekhukhuneFc 🇿🇦player 🙌🏽

The striker has signed a three-year deal with Sekhukhune, which will expire at the end of the 2026/2027 season.
Boyeli joins the likes of Keletso Makgalwa and Njabulo Ngcobo, who are joining the club from Upington City FC and Chiefs, respectively, as the club continues to prepare for CAF Confederation Cup campaign next season.
Meanwhile, the club is showing up to 13 players the exit doors, as the likes of Sibusiso Vilakazi, Collins Makgaka, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Lebohang Mabotja, Thamsanqa Masiya, and Tashreeq Morris are among players leaving the club.
The club is expected to add more names to their squad ahead of next season, as they are looking to compete in all fronts next season after a good 2023/2024 season.
