The former Lamontville Golden Arrows head coach has since backed up his words ahead of the club’s first league match of the season against Supersport United later today.
As per SABC Sport, Mngqithi has dropped two of the club’s influential players, Mokoena and Mudau, for the much anticipated Tshwane Derby.
“Sundowns begin their Betway Premiership title defense against crosstown rivals SuperSport United at Loftus Stadium tonight – and the technical team has made a huge call on defender Mudau as well as midfielder Mokoena,” the public broadcaster stated.
“The public broadcaster has been informed (that) the duo are not injured, meaning they have simply not made the cut.”
