Former Mamelodi Sundowns Star’s agent responds to links linking his client with a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs.

Ntobatsi Masegela, the director and agent at Footballerz Sports Marketing, has clarified the situation regarding his client, Siphesihle Mkhize, and the alleged interest from Kaizer Chiefs.

Mkhize, a central figure in Sekhukhune United’s midfield this 2023/24 PSL season, has been the subject of speculation due to his standout performances, suggesting an imminent departure from the club.

Despite the rumours, Masegela has confirmed that no discussions have taken place with Chiefs regarding Mkhize’s transfer.

Affectionately nicknamed ‘Busquets’, Mkhize has made 29 appearances across all competitions for the Limpopo-based team since his permanent transfer from Sundowns in July 2023.

His journey to Sekhukhune United included development at Sundowns, promotion to the first team by then-coach Pitso Mosimane, and loan spells at Ajax Cape Town and Chippa United.

Masegela expressed gratitude to Sekhukhune United for their faith in Mkhize, emphasizing the significance of the club’s decision to buy him out of Sundowns.

He noted the successful impact of the move for both the player and the club, with Mkhize enjoying regular playtime and contributing to the team’s performance.

Addressing the transfer rumours, Masegela stated, “When a player is doing well, the so-called big teams are going to sniff around. But I can tell you now we haven’t engaged Chiefs over the transfer of Mkhize.”

He further added that while his players are ambitious and seek to enhance their skills, any interest in Mkhize should be directed to Sekhukhune United.

Masegela believes that with the right offer, the club would give their blessing for Mkhize’s transfer.

As it stands, Mkhize remains a key player for Sekhukhune United, and his future at the club appears secure for the time being.
