The well-spoken tactician joined Moroka Swallows from Sundowns in July 2023 while allegedly still contracted to the Brazilians.

Komphela’s contract with Masandawana is reportedly set to expire on the 30th of June 2024 alongside another former Arrows head coach, Manqoba Mngqithi.

Having left the Chloorkop-based club before the start of the current season, Komphela was believed to still be under Sundowns’ payroll, according to KickOff.

“The coach’s contract is only expiring in June this year,” the KickOff source said.

“The agreement was that Mamelodi Sundowns would continue to pay his salary until the expiry date of his contract. The arrangement to join Moroka Swallows was more of a loan move.”

Meanwhile, his contract with Arrows is also set to expire at the end of the current season, having signed a short-term contract with the club earlier this year.
