Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena confirms his club’s interest on Al Ahly SC superstar Percy Tau.

Tau is currently one of the most talked about players in the continent, as his time at Egyptian giants Al Ahly seems to be heading for an ending.

The 31-year-old’s contract with the club is set to end at the end of June 2025, leading to uncertainty of whether he will stay or the club needs to sell him in the current transfer window market.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future in Egypt, Tau is not short of suitors, as several clubs across Africa have shown interest in acquiring his services.
One of the clubs that is looking to sign the attacker is Wydad AC, as confirmed by the club’s head coach Mokwena via Micky Jnr.
Micky took to various social platforms to share the conversation he had with the 37-year-old about the South African international.
“Percy Tau is special to me. I agree with you. It’s a possibility that he can play for Wydad next season. He knows how much I love him and want to work together with him again,” Mokwena told Micky.

However, Wydad is expected to face challenges from several South African clubs like Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns, as they have also shown interest in signing Tau.
