The two defeats see Sundowns extending their winless run to five matches, having lost four matches(three in a row) and drew one in the winless run.
After the defeats, the club’s chairman, Motsepe, sent a message to Masandawana’s supporters ahead of the club’s next match.
“If there is any message that I want to give to Mamelodi Sundowns supporters at this time, it is the same thing I have said at the end of every season and every start of every season,” Motsepe said.
“Thank you for the support. Thank you for always being behind us. We gonna need you. Every season, we need them.
“What’s happening at the club is that we are actually in the process of trying to make sure that we are set in the best position possible to make this one of the best seasons we gonna have in our history.
“You know there is a quote, I don’t want to misquote Mohammed Ali, but it’s a boxing quote that says,”You train hard so that you can fight easily. “.
“If you look at the quality of the opponents we are facing in this pre-season, they are respectively strong challenging football clubs. The results you are seeing now, it’s us setting ourselves up against calibre that we find ourselves playing against in the club world cup, so that’s what we are doing.
