Cape Town Spurs demand fees from Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC for Asanele Velebayi, Luke Baartman, and Liam Bern.

After getting relegated from the second division of South African football, Spurs players Velebayi, Baartman, and Bern joined both Chiefs and Usuthu on a free transfer.
The transfers of these players are being disputed by the Cape Town-based club, as the club claims that despite being relegated to the third tier of South African football, the players still belong to the club.
Sentiments shared by the club’s CEO Alexi Efstathiou, who shared the club’s stance ahead of a Dispute Resolution Chamber that will be held on Monday at 5 pm.
Efstathiou told Sportwire that he is surprised at how Amakhosi approached their players behind their backs.
He expects the Naturena-based club to engage them directly to negotiate the signings of the players in question, as the players are still contracted with them.
Having previously stated that Velebayi is worth around R10 million, Efstathiou further went on to state that the club deserves to be rewarded for all the work they have put into the players’ development and he expects Chiefs to do things in the right way.
The outcome of the chamber will determine how the transfers and futures of the three players lie.
