Oswin Appollis and Bradley Grobbler put in a man of the match performances to help Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United reach MTN8 semi-finals.

The Buccaneers welcomed the Citizens at a full packed Orlando Stadium for an MTN8 quarterfinal clash.
Playing on the right flank, the 23-year-old, Appollis, had a debut to remember, as he had a hand in both the goals Pirates scored during the 2-0 victory over his former side Polokwane City.
In the 13th minute, Appollis handed Pirates the lead after receiving a deadly pass from Boitumelo Radiopane on the right side of City’s box before coolly slotting the ball past Brian Bwire in City’s goals.
Later in the first half, the South African international was fouled in the box by Ayabonga Gwangqa before Patrick Maswanganyi powerfully struck the ball past Bwire to hand the Buccaneers 2-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Grobbler stole the show in Polokwane, as his brace gave Babina Noko a 3-2 victory over TS Galaxy despite going into the break behind.
Wasteful Galaxy side took the lead in the 14th minute through Mpho Mvelase before doubling the lead in the 41st minute through Victor Letsoalo.
However, Babina Noko came roaring back as the halfed the scoreline through the veteran striker, Grobbler’s header in the first half.
The host continued pushing in the second half and were quickly rewarded in the 64th minute, as Grobbler doubled his tally for the match before Vusimuzi Mncube won it for Eric Tinkler’s men in 70th minute to book their spot in the semis alongside Pirates.
In the other quarterfinals, Stellenbosch FC will host AmaZulu FC while Richards Bay is set to visit Mamelodi Sundowns.
