Mohau Nkota sends a heartfelt message to his former club Orlando Pirates after completing a sensational move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.

Earlier this month, the 20-year-old completed a shock move to Al-Ettifaq on a three-year deal after an impressive outings for Pirates during the 2024-2025 season.

Weeks since the move, Nkota has finally sent a message to his former side, thanking the club for the impact it has had in his life, especially through the coaches he played under at the club.

The South African international took to social media to share the message of gratitude to former coaches, teammates, the chairman, and fans of the club for the opportunities, love, and support they have shown him over the years.

“As I close this chapter of my life, I want to take a moment and express my deepest gratitude,” Ntoka tells Pirates.

“To coach Mandla Qhogi and Mxolisi Mngomezulu, thank you for giving me the opportunity to fulfil my dream. You believed in me and gave me the platform to grow.

“To coach Joseph Makhanya, you’ve been more than just a coach – you’ve been a true father figure. Your guidance has shaped me not only as a player but [also] as a man.

“I,m filled with mixed emotions. There’s sadness in leaving behind the only football home I’ve ever known, but also excited for the journey that lies ahead.

“I’ve grown as a player, but even more importantly, I’ve grown as a person. I’m proud and honoured to have won my first major cup with Orlando Pirates. The memories we’ve created and the friendship formed here will last a lifetime.

“To the fans – thanks for your unwavering support. Your cheers, your chants, your passion, and even your constructive criticism – all of it fueled every single step of the way. I’ll never forget the electric atmosphere you created on match days. It was a privilege to play for you.

“To the Chairman, the staff, the technical team, and all the players past and present – thank you. Your dedication, hard work, and contributions have left a lasting impact on me.

“As I begin this chapter, I do so with the values, lessons, and memories I’ve gained from this incredible club. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to wear black and white and be part of the rich history of the Mighty Buccaneers.

“Thank you for unforgettable time. Once and Always.”
