Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso discusses the absence of star players Khuliso Mudau, Peter Shalulile, Lucas Ribeiro, and Thapelo Morena for their MTN8 quarterfinal clash against Richards Bay.

Ahead of the club’s season opener against Richards Bay at home, the Brazilians were full of uncertainty regarding some of the club’s stars like Shalulile, Ribiero, and Mudau.
The trio are said to be on the verge of parting ways with the club amid interest in their services across the globe.
During a pre-match interview with SuperSport TV, Miguel Cardoso was asked about the absence of familiar faces like Shalulile, Ribiero, and Mudau in the line-up.
The Portuguese tactician refused to discuss why the players are not available for the match while also sharing that the club is solving the situations they are facing with the players.
“Well, the players that are here are the ones that are available,” Miguel Cardoso tells SuperSport TV.
“I think it’s not important to be discussing here as individual reasons why every and each player is not available.
“There are different situations that are being taken care of and solved inside the club as they should be.
Cardoso went on to further to warn opponents about thinking that his side is weak without the players that were missing for the Richards Bay’s match.
“But no one should have expectations that we are not strong because one name or other name is not here,” Cardoso added.
The Brazilians went on to win the match 4-0 thanks to goals from a brace from Iqraam Rayners, own goal from Simphiwe Mcineka, and Siyabonga Mabena’s late strike.
Sundowns will next take on arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals of the MTN8 competition, while Stellenbosch FC will play Sekhukhune United in the other clash.
