Mamelodi Sundowns star attacker Lucas Ribeiro Costa is reported to have joined a new club ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club since the end of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with clubs like Fluminense, Pyramids FC, and Qatar SC heavily linked with him.

After weeks of speculations surrounding his future, the Brazilian has finally left the Sundowns to join a new club, according to Rwanda Broadcasting Agency journalist Eric Ndagijimana.

Ndagijimana states that Ribeiro has joined Qatari based club Qatar SC after a brilliant 2024-2025 season with Sundowns.

Ribeiro leaves the Chloorkop-based club, having scored 37 goals and provided 23 assits for 60 goal contributions in 88 games while winning two league titles and multiple individual awards that include 2024-2025 PSL Footballer of the Season.

Meanwhile, Peter Shalulile and Thembinkosi Lorch are also looking for ways out of the club, as the duo is not in head coach Miguel Cardoso’s plans for this season and going forward.

Whereas, Khuliso Mudau is pushing for an exit if the club doesn’t meet his demands, but the club has rejected all the offers for him as they see him as a big part of their project.
