Jerome Karelse is likely to move overseas after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the 2023-2024 season.

It came as a shock to many after the Brazilians decided to let Karelse leave the club at the end of the recently ended season, as the club has rejected multiple offers for him over the years.

At some point, the club saw the youngster as the heir to star striker, Peter Shalulile, due to his scoring prowess in the reserve team, and was expected to follow in the footsteps of Percy Tau, Sphelele Mkhulise, and Keletso Makgalwa in making an impact in the first-team.

However, despite maintaining his scoring prowess, injuries have impacted his impact on the first team, as despite being part of the first team for a couple of seasons, he has failed to breakthrough leading to his exit.

However, the South African junior is not short of suitors as Dstv Premiership clubs are still interested in his services but face tough challenges from overseas clubs according to KickOff Magezine.

The publication reports that the Saudi Pro League side, Al Raed, and Libyan giants, Al Ahly Benghazi, are interested in signing the 22-year-old ahead of the 2024-2025 season.

However, the youngster is likely to remain in the country, as he doesn’t have first-team experience, having played reserve league football for most of his time at Sundowns.
