Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou states that Tshegofatso Mabasa will get his chance after the striker was again absent from the matchday squad for the second consecutive time.

Having missed out on being part of matchday last week alongside fellow striker Evidence Makgopa, Mabasa was again a noticeable absentee from the club’s matchday squad against Sekhukhune United.
The Buccaneers went on to lose the match 1-0, which again put pressure on the coach as to why the 28-year-old was not part of the squad despite being the club’s top goalscorer the last two seasons.
Speaking to media during the post-match interview, the Morrocan tactician reiterated his stands when he was asked about Mabasa.
Having last week told the media that Makgopa and Mabasa missed out on the matchday squad due to the coaching staff preferring Boitumelo Radiopane and Yanela Mbuthuma over the duo, he ultimately stated the same.
He told the media that Mabasa is fit and ready, and it was the technical team’s decision to leave him out, but he will be ready when called upon.
The Buccaneers are next in action this coming Tuesday night, when they will take on Marumo Gallants away from home.
Gallants go into the match at the back of a 2-1 victory over Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal.
