Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou reacts to his side’s 2-0 victory over Polokwane City in the quarters of the MTN8.

Goals from new signing Oswin Appollis and star attacking middlefielder Patrick Maswanganyi’s penalty saw the Buccaneers book their spot into the semi-finals of the MTN8.
However, despite the comfortable victory, the Morrocan tactician revealed that his side is far from a finished product, as they still have things to work on.
Speaking to SuperSport TV after the match, Ouaddou revealed how he was happy with the performance and also the victory, as it gave everyone involved a chance to see how the club plays.
“Very happy for the points [win], I am very proud of them because we had a very technical plan,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV.
“We wanted to play with a high intensity since the beginning to put pressure on the team. It’s what we [have] done.
“I think it was a good game for our fans as well; we wanted to give them a good game. We have been training in Spain for a long time, but now they can see a little bit of the team, but it’s still something to improve.
“Not everything was perfect, but at least I’m happy for the first game.”
He also touched on the new faces in the team, especially Appollis, who won the man of the match award for his performance.
“I am happy for him. You know Appollis for a long time,” Ouaddou added.
“When he is surrounded with good players, you can even see the best of him, but not only him.
“I want to congratulate all my boys. He took the best man – man of the match because of the collective.”
