Kaizer Chiefs has reached an agreement to partways with former Orlando Pirates player Bongani Sam a year after the player joined the club.

Sam joined Amakhosi from arch-rivals, Pirates a year ago on a three-year deal with an option to extend the deal for a further year.
However, his start to life at Naturena started with a horrendous injury that kept him out for the majority of the 2024-2025 season.
Upon his return from the injury, the 28-year-old was out of the club’s head coach Nasreddine Nabi’s plans for the club going forward.
Despite the signs suggesting that he would be among the first names to head out of the club, the former now-defunct Moroka Swallows left fullback entangled into a long negotiations with Chiefs hierarchy over a deal to terminate his contract.
However, after weeks of negotiations, the two parties reached an agreement over termination as the club announced his departure.
He joins the likes of Tebogo Potsane, Ranga Chivaviro, Edmilson Dove, Edson Castillo, and Sabelo Radebe in leaving the club since the end of the 2024-2025 season.
