Former Wydad Athletic Club and Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena open to coaching Orlando Pirates.

Mokwena is currently clubless after parting ways with Morrocan giants Wydad AC less than a season into his four-year deal at the club due to poor results and run of form.
The tactician has been heavily linked with the head coach job at Pirates after Spanish tactician Jose Riveiro decided to leave the club and join Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC at the end of his deal at the club.
The 38-year-old was a guest on a SuperSport TV show, Soccer Africa, on Thursday, the 5th of June, where he was asked if he was interested in taking over the head coach job at Pirates.
Mokwena revealed that he would indeed consider the offer should they offer him the post, as he is very fond of the club’s boss, Dr. Irvin Khoza.
“Of course, I would. I would consider,” Mokwena stated on the showm
“It’s a big club and has people close to my heart, a man I am very fond of in Dr. (Irvin) Khoza, and he will always have a special place in my heart.”
He further went in to share what he had learned working under Dr. Khoza of Pirates, Dr. Patrice Motsepe of Mamelodi Sundowns(he is now CAF president) and Hicham Ait Menna of Wydad Athletic Club.
“I have learned from the three best football leaders on the continent.
Dr Khoza is number one, Patrice Motsepe, the things he taught me at Mamelodi Sundowns are unbelievable, and the third is Hicham Ait Menna, I enjoyed working with the coach, president of Wydad,” Mokwena concluded.
Meanwhile, Mokwena is also said to be looked at clubs like Pyramids FC and Zamalek SC, who see the coach as the perfect candidate to take their respective clubs forward.
