Orlando Pirates’ hierarchy has made a decision on the future of Angolan international Gilberto at the club.

The 24-year-old struggled for game time during the first half of the season after completing a multimillion Rands move from Angolan giants Petro De Luanda before the start of the 2024-2025 season.
He managed to start a single game in the 12 matches he played for the club between May and December of last year, before ultimately asking for a loan move back to Petro.
His move back to Angola yielded positive results, as he helped the club to win the league championship and book its place in next season’s CAF Champions League tournament.
However, despite his success in Angola, his future at Pirates still needed to be decided, as he was linked with a permanent move away from the Sea Robbers.
But despite the indications indicating that he will leave the club permanently, Pirates has decided to loan the player back to Petro De Luanda for the entire of next season.
He joins the likes of Miguel Timm and Innocent Maela in leaving the club ahead of next season despite his move being a loan move that could be turned into a permanent one in the near future.
