Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso reacts to his side’s defeat against Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium.

After suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat, Cardoso lamented his side’s poor start to the match as one of the factors that led to his side suffering the defeat.
“When you start a game like this, you should not expect good things,” Cardoso told SuperSport TV.

“I can only commend that we had a good reaction after the goal until 25th minutes, and then we played until half-time with the heart, but no brain.
“The brain stayed in the locker room, and football is mostly played with the brain.”
He further went on to share how the referee didn’t allow the game to flow in the second half, where his side came back into the game.
“On the second half, we brought a little bit more brain on the pitch,” Cardoso added.
“Unfortunately, there was a period of 15 minutes after our game that the referee allowed not to play no one.
“Everybody falling on the ground. No football. It’s a shame, but it’s what we have, and that took out our energy.
“If it was a strategy, it was a good strategy because it took our energy out.
“We were punished by the beginning, nothing more to say.”
Meanwhile, the early strikes from Relebohile Mofokeng were enough to help the Buccaneers earn the much-needed three points to keep their changes to win the league alive.
Pirates finds itself 15 points behind Sundowns, having played four games less than the league leaders.
