Kaizer Chiefs is believed to be leading the race to land a long-time target as the Naturena-based club continues to rebuild under head coach Nasreddine Nabi.

The inconsistent results the club has been having this season despite bringing in a handful of players suggests that the club is far from completing the rebuilding phase currently they are undertaking.

Sentiments shared by the club’s head coach, who keeps reminding the club’s faithful that they don’t have the half the squad and players he wants to build the team he wants to build.
Opening doors to more arrivals at the club as long as he is still at the helm, and one of the players said to be eyed by the club is Royal AM star attacker Mfundo Thikazi.
According to Soccer Laduma, the club is likely to land their long-time target in the recent future, as his current club is facing difficulties with South African Revenue Services(SARS).
“Yes, it’s not the first time Chiefs have shown interest in him, but in the past, things were not finalised,” the publication reports.
“Given Royal AM’s situation now, his move to Chiefs is possible. It could happen at the end of the season.
“Things are looking good, and it could be beneficial for the player as well.”
But despite Amokhosi reportedly being in the front seat to land the speedy attacker, Thikazi still has a year left with the club, which could provide difficulties given the future of Royal AM is currently unclear.
“There are some players at Royal AM whose contracts are ending in June, and they are reluctant to sign extensions due to the club’s situation.
“But with Mfundo, he remains under contract. Kaizer Chiefs would have to buy him if they were serious about signing him.
“However, I don’t think that will be an issue as he won’t be too expensive.”
