Kaizer Chiefs fans are questioning the referee Cedrick Muvhali’s decision to award Gaston Sirino the second yellow card that led to his marching orders against SuperSport United.

With Amakhosi under pressure to rampant SuperSport United side on the night, Sirino was left a frustrating figure like his teammates, which led to him receiving two yellow cards in a space of 11 minutes in the second half.

The 33-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns received his first booking in the 58th minute after he deliberately handled the ball with his hand after failing to control the ball in SuperSport’s box.
With Chiefs 3-1 already and struggling to create clear-cut chances, Sirino got into a mini battle with SuperSport’s attacker Ghampani Lungu after his teammate Happy Mashiane fouled former Orlando Pirates middlefielder Siphesihle Ndlovu.
The scuffle between the two players seemed meaningless until the match official on the night Muvhali, with the help of his assistants near the incident, decided to book the players for their scuffle.
This led to Sirino receiving his second booking in the 69th minute and ultimately sent off, which led to Chiefs fans questioning the second booking.
One of the club’s popular fans, Tshemedi, took to his X account to ask what the player did to receive the second yellow card.
“Kante, what did Sirino do to get the 2nd yellow?,” Tshemedi asked.
While many agreed with the referee, others like Themba Makhubo stated that he deliberately got a red card so that he won’t face his former side in Chiefs’ next match.
“Sirino wanted to get another yellow card , just to run away from Sundowns,” Makhubo stated.
