Khanyisa Mayo sends an emotional message to Cape Town City FC after completing a move to CR Belouizdad in Algeria.

Khanyisa Mayo celebrates his goal for Cape Town City FC against Kaizer Chiefs during the 2023-2024 Dstv Premiership season at FNB Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.

Mayo completed a three year move to Algerian Top division champions CR Belouizdad for a fee reported to be around R20 million after spending three years at City having joined the club back in 2021 from the then second division side, Richards Bay FC.

The 25-year-old took to his various social media platforms, including Threads, to share an emotional and heartfelt message thanking the Citizens for the opportunity they gave him during his tenure at the club.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible journey we’ve shared at Cape Town City FC. It has been an honour to wear the club’s colours and represent such prestigious organization,” Mayo stated on Threads.

“To Mr Comitis, thank you for your unwavering support and belief in my abilities. Your vision and leadership have been instrumental in creating a positive environment where players can thrive.

“To the management team, your dedication behind the scene has not gone unnoticed. Your efforts have allowed us to focus on our game, knowing that every detail is taken care of with precision and care.

The South African international leaves the Citizens with a record of 29 goals and 6 assists in 93 matches in all competitions.
