Mamelodi Sundowns star attacker Abubeker Nasir is likely to leave the club ahead of the 2024-2025 season.

The Ethiopian international has struggled to break into Sundowns’ playing squad regularly ever since arriving from Ethiopian Coffee FC back in 2022.

As consistent injuries and being out of favour with the then head coach Rulani Mokwena saw Nasir play 17 matches scoring four times in his half and a season at Chloorkop.

He recently returned to the club this pre-season after Mokwena last season said that he is no longer part of the club, which came as a shock to many.

However, the 24-year-old’s return to the Brazilians is likely to be short-lived, as he is set to leave the club ahead of the 2024-2025 season.

He is likely to head out on a loan stint in the Dstv Premiership as the club sees him as one for the future.

This comes after the arrival of Arthur de Oliveira Sales from Lommel SK for a reported fee of over R64 million.

The Brazilian is expected to fill the vacant foreign quota left by Junior Mendieta when he joined the Greek Super League club Volos NFC earlier this month.

The other ones are expected to be filled by Marcelo Allende, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Abdelmounaim Boutouil, and Matias Esquivel, who is looking to prove himself this season.
