Mamelodi Sundowns’ winless run continues after a 1-0 defeat to Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv.

The Brazilians ended the 2023-2024 season with two losses and a draw in the last three matches they played, which was followed by two defeats in the recent friendly matches.

IN OTHER NEWS: How Sundowns Suffered Second Defeat In As Many Days

Sundowns last tasted a victory back in the round 29 of the 2023-2024 Dstv Premiership season, as they defeated Stellenbosch FC 1-0 on the 18th of May 2024 thanks to a goal from Lesiba Nku.

The Stellies victory was followed by a draw away to spirited TS Galaxy FC in the round 20 of the league season, three days after the Stellenbosch victory.

On the day, late strike from star striker Peter Shalulile cancelled Puso Dithejane’s 78th minute strike to earn Sundowns a hard earned point on the road.

After the Galaxy game, the Chloorkop-based club has suffered four consecutive losses, with the last two coming in the last two days.

A 1-0 defeat on the final day of the season to Cape Town City FC to deny them a chance of ending the league season unbeaten was followed by a 2-1 Nedbank Cup final loss to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates.

IN OTHER NEWS: Kasey Oliver Leaves Mamelodi Sundowns

To add to the rather poor ending to the season, Masandawana started the 2024-2025 pre-season on a sour note.

Back-to-back defeat to German third-tier side SV Sandhausen(2-1) and Dynamo Kyiv(1-0), leave Sundowns with a five winless run that is made up of four losses and one draw.

However, the Brazilians don’t have to wait long to end their winless run, as in five days’ time, they will play English club, Cardiff City FC.
