Orlando Pirates starlet is set to play in the National First Division next season after joining the Motsepe Foundation Championship club.

Ahead of the 2024-2025 season, Pirates is expected to trim their squad further, leaving a handful of players at risk of leaving the club before the season starts.

One of the players that will not be at the club next season is Azola Matrose, who has joined the Motsepe Foundation Championship club, the University of Pretoria for a season long loan according to Unplayable.
“Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder Azola Matrose (21) has joined AmaTuks on loan for a season,” Unplayable stated on X.
The 21-year-old attacker struggled for game time at Pirates last season, leading to him being demoted to the reserve side to get some action in the Dstv Diski Challenge.
He also struggled to replicate his form at Chippa United in the Sea Robbers’ reserve side, leading to him being left out for the pre-season tour to Spain.

He joins goalkeeper Siphamandla Gumede in leaving the Buccaneers on loan, as the shot-stopper is expected to leave the club once they find a club for him.
He is set to spend a second successive season out on loan, having spent last season out on loan in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
