Orlando Pirates takes a swipe at Cape Town City after edging the Cape Town-based club in Orlando Stadium yesterday.

With Buccaneers in a league title race with arch-rivals Mamelodi Sundowns who were playing after the Pirates’ match, a win against the Citizens was a must.

Despite going into halftime behind 1-0 after Hashim Domingo’s strike for the visitors in the 21st minute, two goals in the second half from red-hot form striker Tshegofatso Mabasa and the returning Goodman Mosele saw the hosts collect all three points.
The win saw them cut Sundowns’ lead at the top of the table to nine for a few hours before Sundowns returned it to 12 points, having played three more games than Pirates.
However, the win also gave the Sea Robbers a chance to throw shade back City after what the club did back in Janury after beating Pirates.
After beating Pirates 1-0 in Cape Town, they took to their social media platforms to post various posts, taunting and provoking Pirates.
One of them being a post after the final whistle showing Pirates players in disbelief of what happened, and they captioned it,”We remain humble.“
Something that didn’t sit well with Pirates, as they returned the favour, posting a 36-second clip showing what City did after beating them, which was accompanied by a Justin Timberlake song, “Too late to apologise”.
The second part of the clip shows Pirates players, coaching staff, and fans celebrating the victory during the song “Be humble” by Kendrick Lamar.
The clip left many divided, as most like Kutso(@Kutsolization) felt the club shouldn’t beef with clubs like City, as their peers are sitting on top of the table.
While others like King_Dakana(@King Dakana) believe that this is one of the best seasons, as Pirates is “cooking” on both the field of play and off it as well.
