Omega Mdaka and Aiden McCarthy in action for Kaizer Chiefs against Mamelodi Sundowns during the 2023-24 Dstv Diski Challenge season.

Earlier this season, Amakhosi hierarchy decided to suspend a handful of reserve side players after they decided not to fulfill the club’s orders of being ball boys for Carling Knockout round of 16 clash against AmaZulu FC at FNB Stadium.

Among those players, the club decided to sack both Puso Dithejane, who went on to join TS Galaxy, and Omega Mdaka, as the duo were said to behind the incident.

The club demanded that the club that signs the youngsters should pay a development fee of around R1.5 million as according to FIFA rules.

While Galaxy scooped Dithejane, AmaZulu failed to reach an agreement with Chiefs for Mdaka, as stated by Usuthu’s head coach Pablo Franco Martin.

“I think he was a good player, very interesting for the club. But from what I heard, there was some problem with the negotiations between the clubs and his release clause from Chiefs, so it was impossible to finalize the deal,” Martin said.

However, the talented left fullback is said to be training with Dstv Premiership side, Stellenbosch FC, according to Idiski Times.

Should the youngster impress the club’s technical team, Stellies will be required to pay development fee to Chiefs like Galaxy did for the signature of Dithejane.
