Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena sends a message to Wolverhampton Wanderers player Marshall Munetsi after the attacker scored his first goal in the Premier League.

Wolverhampton Wanderers attackers Marshall Munetsi and Jean-Ricner Bellgarde celebrate the former’s goal against Everton FC at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton, England on the 8th of March 2025.

Having already registered an assist in the Premier League since joining Wolves back in January, Munetsi registered his first goal for his new club at home in the league.

Despite the Zimbabwean international’s goal earning his side a single point, his former coach at Pirates, Rulani Mokwena, was left impressed and shared how he is proud of his growth.

“What a story,” Mokwena stated in his Instagram story.

“Amazing to see people grow right in front of you. You inspire so many. From Zimbabwe to South Africa to the world.

“Congratulations, Marshall Nyasha Munetsi.”

Munetsi replied to his former coach by thanking Mokwena.

“Thank you very much, coach Rulani,” Munetsi replied.

His reply was also replied by Mokwena, who stated how proud he is to have coached Munetsi even though it was not for long.

“Proud to have coached you and made a contribution even if it’s just 5%,” Mokwena replied.

“Greatness has always been with you.”

The 28-year-old will be looking to add more goals and help his side to avoid relegation.

They currently find themselves 17th(one spot above the relative spots) with 23 points after 28 matches six points ahead of the 18th place Ipswich City.
