South Africa’s leading beer company, Carling Black Label appears to have parted ways with Orlando Pirates with Amstel Lager taking their place.

The two parties first started their partnership back 2011 when Carling Black Label signed a five-year deal with Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs to host a one-off annual between the two clubs that allowed fans to pick starting line ups and make substitutions via voting.
This match took place for a couple of years before other clubs were involved, as Chiefs, Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and AmaZulu FC were voted by the fans to participate in a four-team tournament back in 2022.
Between 2011 and 2023, both Chiefs and Pirates appeared to have been sponsored by the beer company, as they had the companies logo on their jerseys during that period.
However, since the beer company took over as the official sponsor for the top 16 tournament in the top-tier of South Africa, the clubs seem to have parted ways with the company.
Both of them no longer have the company’s logo among their sponsors on their respective websites.

While Amakhosi appears to have not replaced the beer company, their arch-rivals, Pirates, have replaced the beer company with another beer company.
Amstel Lager, which is brewed by Heineken company, has replaced Carling Black Label as one of Pirates’ sponsors.
Pirates also announced that Suzuki has also become their sponsor replacing Ford that has been with the club since 2017.
