Orlando Pirates fan Thami Ramaila Mashele, popularly known by the name PHD, hits back at Kaizer Chiefs fans after the weekend’s defeat to Marumo Gallants.

This past weekend, Pirates suffered a shocking 2-0 defeat to Gallants in Bloemfontein, which led to Chiefs fans and many around the country believing that the league is beyond their reach.

With Mamelodi Sundowns holding an 18-point lead over the Buccaneers after a 1-0 over Chiefs, Amakhosi fans have been making a mockery of Pirates’ chances of winning the league, something that didn’t sit well with PHD.
On SuperSport TV fans show, Fan Base, Thami decided to hit back at Chiefs fans on the show who ridiculed Pirates for their performances this past weekend.
“Ask yourself, ukuthi(that) out of 16 teams. Why are they talking about Orlando Pirates, we are not the only team that is competing here,” Thami told Fan Base presenter Lindiwe Dube.
“Let me remind them(Chiefs fans) since we got majority of the people here who didn’t do math at school, they are still many games that are left here with points enough to qualify us or any team that wants to win the league.
“Let me tell you, we are not weak people, and we can not take anything that comes from our neighbours(Kaizer Chiefs) that are not even in the same level as us.
“The only common thing we share with Kaizer Chiefs is the fact that we come from Soweto, but nothing else.
He further went on to remind Chiefs fans that they are not on their level to talk or respond to them as they play in the CAF Champions League, along with Sundowns.
“We play in the Champions league. The level allows Sundowns and Pirates to speak. You are not in the level to answer to me,” Thami added.
The Doctor of South African football went on to state that Pirates are still in the race and they will take each game as it comes, and Sundowns will still find it hard to win the league.
“Let the results show in the pitch. Sister Lindi, we take one game at a time. We will never do things of December in January.
“We take one game at a time. We know the success of a jealous man(Chiefs fans) comes from the downfall of a successful man in us. We definitely regain our momentum and rely on whoever is willing to help us.
“If we are to give Sundowns the league, they will have to sweat for it, and I know wherever they are, hence everyone that spoke here, spoke about Orlando Pirates, why? It’s a common sense that we are threatening them,” Thami concluded.
