Mamelodi Sundowns has signed their first player of the current transfer window, as the club starts preparations for the new season.

The club has already shown seven players the exit doors since the conclusion of the 2024-2025 domestic season, and more are expected to follow.
However, despite the imminent departures of more than five players, the club has acquired the services of arguably one of the top young players in the country.
Yesterday, the Pietermaritzburg based academy, Rovers United Academy, announced that one of the best players the academy has produced, Sgcino Memela, has joined the Brazilians ahead of the new season.
The club took to their various social accounts to announce the move.
“The Blue Nation congratulates our former player, Sgcino Memela, on his move to Mamelodi Sundowns,” the academy states.
Memela can play both as a striker and a winger with his best position being a winger. Hence, he is nicknamed after Brazilian and Real Madrid superstar Vinicious Junior.
He is expected to be part of the club’s academy sides that ply its trade in the Gauteng Development League and as well as the Dstv Diski Challenge.
Meanwhile, the club’s first team squad returned to training yesterday to begin their preparations for next season.
A couple of weeks after wrapping up their 2024-2025 season due to their participation in the recently ended FIFA Club World Cup.
The club’s season starts at home on the 3rd of August 2025 against Richards Bay in the quarterfinals of the MTN8.
