Having progressed to the next stage of the CAF Confederations Cup despite a 5-0 defeat away to RS Berkane, Stellies bounced back with an emphatic 5-0 victory.

The lively match saw both clubs coming close to breaking the deadlock before former Baroka FC attacking middlefielder Khomotjo Lekoloane’s strike in the 35th minute gave the away side a one-nil lead at the break.

Stellies doubled their lead in the 57th minute through Devin Titus, which was followed by Chumani Butsaka’s strike outside the box in the 60th minute to triple Stellenbosch’s lead with 30 minutes to go.

Titus doubled his tally for the night six minutes later to hand the visitors a 4-0 lead, which was extended in the 80th minute to 5-0 after a strike from Central middlefielder Ibraheem Jabaar.

The victory sees Stellies move one place from eighth to seventh on the Betway Premiership log table after acquiring 19 points after 12 matches, while Usuthu drops from ninth to tenth after 16 points from 14 matches.
